On October 19, the Sunday Sun broke the news of Autism Treatment Trust President Bill Welsh's formal complaint to the General Medical Council in London over the safety of the MMR vaccine. Journalist Phil Doherty wrote that the complaint marked a dramatic twist to the debate about the link between the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine and autism. 2.  Mercury, Mice, Autism, ME And Dementia

A new report entitled Feeding mice with diets containing mercury-contaminated fish flesh from French Guiana: a model for the mercurial intoxication of the Wayana Amerindians has just been published. If mercury has such a drastic effect on electron transport in human mitochondria, it suggests a mechanism by which mercury could cause ME. As mothers dump mercury in their babies, it presumably accumulates with each generation, and ME, anxiety, autism and dementia, all increase.

4.  Pending New Jersey Vaccine Legislation Reviewed

This text is a response to the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services position statement titled, The Position of the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (NJ DHHS) on: The Pending New Jersey Conscientious Exemption Legislation. While there is no dispute that "(p)ublic health care and medical communities consider vaccinations one of the most important measures in improving the public's health over the past 100 years", the facts are that, in the industrialized world, vaccines have been a <10% factor in the reduction of the common contagious diseases where sanitation, hygiene, clean water, safe food, adequate housing account for 90-plus % of the decrease in childhood diseases before vaccines were mandated.

5.  RiME On Mar, The Charities And The APPG Inquiry

RiME provides comment on the All Party Parliamentary Group on ME (APPG) Meeting, the unease over the terms of reference of the APPG Inquiry, the CFS/ME Clinics Assessment and the antics of the Countess of Mar with the CFS/ME Charities. Paul Davis comments: "There is much disquiet as to what is going on here. To pick up on one point: Lady Mar says that AfME and the MEA have changed. Well, I don't know about you but I would like to see her written evidence. Accordingly, RiME has written to Lady Mar asking for that evidence. The letter will shortly be put in the public domain."
